IFQM Academy for Business Excellence organised an orientation workshop for ‘DFSS and Taguchi methods’ on 31st Jan 2025 at TVS Institute for Quality and Leadership, Bengaluru. The workshop was led by Mr. Shin Taguchi, an Expert on DFSS and Taguchi Methods and Dr. Kovaichelvan, Mentor, IFQM Academy for Business Excellence.
Taguchi methods is a statistical technique to achieve robustness in design through efficient energy transformation by optimizing the control factors and minimizing sensitivity of the response to noise factors. This helps to optimize the product and processes to accomplish the function effectively in the DFSS approach using IDDOV.
This workshop enabled 63 delegates from IFQM member companies who gained an understanding of the concept and potential application of Taguchi Methods using their own challenges of products and processes. The teams from each member company could complete the project charter for the product/process challenges they brought with guidance from Mr Shin Taguchi.
This workshop will be followed by a structured green belt program on Taguchi Methods for IFQM members.
